VGT turbochargers are an innovative solution aimed at optimizing engine efficiency in various rev ranges. How does variable geometry work in a turbocharger? Variable blade geometry (VGT) in the turbocharger allows you to adjust the angle of inclination of the rotor blades depending on the engine operating conditions. At low engine speeds, when the exhaust gas flow is limited, the angle of inclination of the blades is usually greater. This makes it possible to maintain the appropriate turbine rotational speed, even at low exhaust gas flow. As the engine speed increases and the exhaust gas flow increases, the blade angle decreases. This allows the exhaust gas stream to be concentrated on the rotor, increasing the turbine speed and maximizing the air delivered to the engine.
